1,000-Year-Old Borough Market Celebrates Apple Day With ‘The Real Apple Store’
What do you get when you cross a green-grocer and a librarian? 1000 varieties of apples displayed in alphabetical order. Oh and a few cross-eyes.

We had lots of fun last month when we were asked by Teatime Productions to help them make an apple wall as part of Borough Market’s 1000th anniversary celebrations.

The market chose to co-ordinate their anniversary with Apple Day and created The Real Apple Store, an art installation modelled after a real Apple Store (the tech brand), that displayed 1,000 varieties of real British apples.

The installation allowed visitors to see and taste varieties of apples they may have never experienced before like the odd-looking Knobby Russet which thankfully tasted better than it looked as well as Court Pendu Plat—the world's oldest known apple.

To see the installation yourself have a look at this video released by Borough Market.
