Villa
Versace
To celebrate the finale of a week long conference in Lake Como, Italy we were asked to design and execute the Gala dinner. The client had already chosen a magnificent clear span marquee, cut to fit around the tranquil garden space of the stunning Villa Versace thereby allowing the trees and water features to become a part of the event space.
Clockwise from top left: Pre-dinner; Trees outside look into the transparent marquee; Nightfall, lights on; Three shimmering spiral chandeliers; Table details; Diners enjoying the delights of Italian cooking.
Lake Como, Italy

With magnificent surroundings like this, the rest was easy. The setting was so beautiful it seemed obvious to us to reflect the sparkling lake side location and the beautiful faded grandeur of the Villa as much as possible, continuing the feel of the outside within.
Highly polished mirror plinths were topped with rustic urns filled with a mass a wild foliage and lush white roses to reflect the rustic feel of the villas gardens, this simple idea was repeated in the table centres giving the illusion of the centre pieces floating within the space.
Sparkling elegance was added with clusters of spiral droplet chandeliers, so long they almost brushed the floor. Perspex ghost chairs were chosen to add a contemporary feel, which, when combined with the sleek, clean edges of the mirror plinths worked beautifully.
