The Leadenhall
Ball 2009
Summer, 2009
Some venues are a challnge to work in. Some are a joy. Leadenhall Market is both. In 2009 we really got to go to (China) town for this biannial event and proposed a vibrant, colourful East meets West theme.
Leadenhall Market
The logistics of transforming this wonderfully historic location into an event space means that the four ends of the market must be blocked off to the public and create a more sheltered environment for the guests. Scaffolding was erected and then clad with distinctive back lit Eastern motifs. All rigging was installed by our team and was utilized, not only for the dynamic lighting scheme and AV kit, but for our wide range of oriental props in a more imaginative way by suspending them from the rigging to create table centres.

As always this event was nursed form the drawing board to reality though a wide range of working drawings, visuals , floor plans, even the logo, to create an event which was declaired 'the best yet' by the Leadenhall Ball comitee.
Giant, glowing lanterns (main photo and right) created a perfect, central feature for the performances, presentations and dancing. A street scene was created with lanterns , banners and neon signs for the reception while tables were dressed with umbrellas, flowers and lanterns (far right)
